My Summer Trip July 2021

Spread the love

Hello there! I recently went on a long road trip to  Glacier National Park, Montana. Let me tell you about my amazing five days on the road.

Day One:
On the first day, the goal was to get to our cousin’s house. They live in Pullman, Washington, which is around a five-hour drive from our place. My family had already packed and had gotten ready the night before to be prepared the next morning. Our original plan was to leave the house by 10 A.M., because it would be a long drive to our cousin’s house. I was really excited because I hadn’t seen them for about six months. Soon all of my family went to bed, but I was so delighted I could barely sleep! The next morning, I had done my morning routine (showered, brushed my teeth, skincare, changed my clothes). Then I asked my mom, “Why aren’t we leaving yet?” She replied, “Oh, we aren’t leaving at 10 anymore; your dad has some work to do.” I was bummed, “now what time were we going to leave at?” So my brother and I just spent the rest of the time watching TV. My dad came from work around 12:00 P.M. and left home at 1:00 P.M. Before we headed to the highway, we all stopped at Starbucks where I got my favorite drink, a matcha green tea latte, my mom chose her to drink, a cafe latte, my dad, had a chai tea latte and Sam, my brother, had a blueberry muffin. It was our first long trip on the road, and I was so excited to explore our different state’s geography, food, and animals. After a five-hour drive, we reached our cousin’s home. We arrived around dinner time, so we just in time got to eat a lot of delicious food. Then my brother and I changed into our PJs and went to bed. That was just day one of our vacations…I wondered what the rest would be like.

Day Two:

Once I woke up, I did my morning routine. After that, my family and my cousins ate breakfast. That’s when my dad reminded my brother and me, “Make sure that all your things are in your suitcase.” Today we were leaving Washington to go to Montana with our family friends. We said our goodbyes to our cousins for the pleasant stay and opportunity to take some family pictures before we finally left their house.

After a little while of driving, we arrived in Idaho! I was pumped!!! We bought some more Starbucks (yeah….our family has a Starbucks problem). We took a few pictures here and there, and we made many stops to use the restrooms. Soon we finally made it…. TO THE HOTEL!!!! We met up with our family friends and then went out for dinner. Eventually, after another 5 hours (and many stops) of driving….WE FINALLY MADE IT! It was about 8:30 PM at the time, so most of the dinner places were closed. Soon enough, we finally found one. After we ate dinner, all of us headed back to the hotel. We changed into our PJs and went to our hotel room and socialized with our friends, while the parents went into their friends’ room. Overall, we all had a great day. Another day of vacation was over.

Day Three and Four:

On the third day, we went  Whitewater Rafting. It was so fun to be in the water! We were actually pretty good at it, except when we hit the rapids. The rapids were the currents that made us go flying….Thankfully, nobody flew out of the raft.  This was one of the best trips I had taken. Our guide, Chris, was fantastic! He was super friendly, knew the river and the area’s history nicely, and made running rapids super smooth. He even jumped to the river, grabbed a stone from the bottom of the river, and gave it to my brother. So if you are looking for an amazing weekend of rafting in Glacier, Whitewater Rafting is the best! On the fourth day, we all went to drive on a scenic drive at Glacier mountain’s Sun road and hiking on the highland trail. The trail was filled with beautiful wildflowers. The views were so magnificent!  We also saw mountain goats, marmots. I almost forgot to mention that it was the Fourth of July on day three of our trip! On the Fourth of July, it was my family friends’ mom’s birthday, I called her aunty. We, all of us went to a very fancy dinner place, had a great dinner. After celebrating aunty’s  birthday and the 4th of July, we returned to the hotel and chilling at the swimming pool. Overall, these two days were really, really exhilarating and awesome.

Day Five:

This was our last day staying at Glacier Park,  Montana. I was kind of sad because it was fun staying with our family friends. On the last day, all of the parents went on a hike at 4 am. That meant we kids had most of the day to ourselves. We started the day with breakfast. Then, we went down to the hotel cafe to grab our food. I had some french toast, eggs, yogurt, strawberries, and milk. Then, we put our food in some to-go boxes and ate in our rooms. After having breakfast, we all prepared for swimming.

As we walked into the pool, we realized that we were the only people at the pool…. Oh yeah! We played A LOT of pool games, such as Marco Polo, catch, and swim races. A HUGE bonus was that our hotel had a waterslide! Overall, we all had a great time at the pool! After leaving the pool, we headed back to our rooms to shower and change into fresh, new, and warm clothes. Later, after we had showered, all of us went down to the gym for fun. We worked out on the treadmills and machine bicycle thing. After spending  45 minutes on exercise, we went  back to our rooms and watched our favorite show, is  called , thecSimson.  Then our parents called us and said they would be home in about two hours. Soon enough, we all got really bored watching show and decided to explore around the hotel. When we were walking around the hotel looking for stuff to do. That’s when we saw a patio outside and decided to hang out. It was almost 100 degrees outside, so I felt a hot gust of air blowing in my direction when I stepped outside. There was a sofa out there, so we decided to sit on it….which was a terrible idea. Since it was so hot, the cushions for the sofa were hot. The moment we sat down, we jumped right back up almost immediately. It felt like my butt was going to burn up, same with everyone else. That’s when we decided we’ll stay inside. A good lesson from that experience is that don’t ever sit on an outdoor sofa/couch/cushion in 100-degree heat unless you want your buttcheeks burned off.

After a few more hours of wandering in hotel, the parents finally returned, with  pizza dinner, which was delicious! After that, the parents had socializing time while we kids had play time. About three hours later, we all went to bed. That’s when it hit me that our Montana vacation was over.

Overall, It was a fantastic vacation for us! I had a great time learning new things, connecting with my family and  friends, and creating lifetime memories!
