Happy Veterans Day!!

Spread the love

Imagine not being able to see your family and friends for a long time. Imagine having to see people die almost every day in battle fields. Having to fight for your country and to stand alone away from your family for months. Nobody wants that to happen.

Today, November 11th, let’s take a moment to thank these brave people who have sacrificed and served our country. They had to fight so hard to keep America safe. Veterans Day honors all of those who have served the country in war or peace, dead or alive, although it’s largely intended to thank living veterans for their sacrifices. It was originally called Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I.

Veterans are the heroes who leave their families to fight for our country and for our freedom . Veterans are special as they put all of our needs before theirs so we can live another day in freedom. Veteran includes people who have served in wars for example, World War 2, but it also includes the navy, army and air force.

Sometimes they  have to go to another country far away from home. For example, Joe Biden’s son Beau Biden served in the military for a few years but quit as his cancer got worse. Beau Biden died in 2015.

There are many veterans hospitals in the country who take care of the veterans with medical issues including PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) related to the  mental trauma of wars.  I am proud that my dad is a Veteran doctor and serves veterans in the hospital. In this pandemic, the healthcare providers are also heroes. So we can say “Heroes taking care of Heroes”.

Here I end my blog by saluting our veterans.

        Happy Veterans Day!!
